The 7-Step Journey
What is The 7-Step Journey?
The 7-Step Journey is Pinnacle Blooms Network's structured, family-centred pathway that guides your child from your first enquiry through assessment, an individualised plan, therapy, review and celebrated progress. It is not a test or label but a clear, repeatable sequence that keeps care consistent, keeps you informed, and ties every goal to your child's everyday life so progress is measured rather than guessed.
Every child's progress deserves a clear path — The 7-Step Journey is the gentle map that guides your family from first hello to lasting milestones.
In short
The 7-Step Journey is Pinnacle Blooms Network's structured, family-centred pathway that takes your child from your very first enquiry through to measurable, celebrated progress. It is not a test or a label — it is a clear, repeatable sequence that makes sure nothing is missed, that you always know the next step, and that your child's plan is built around their unique strengths. Each step flows into the next: understanding, assessing, planning, beginning therapy, reviewing, and growing together. What the 7 steps look like
Think of the journey as seven dependable stations, each designed to keep your family informed and your child supported:1. Welcome & listening — we hear your concerns, history and hopes, with no rush and no judgement.
2. Structured assessment — a clinician-administered evaluation that builds your child's clinical AbilityScore® to map strengths and areas for support.
3. Understanding the picture — the findings are explained to you in plain, warm language, so you understand the whole child.
4. Individualised plan — a personalised therapy plan is built around your child's profile, drawing on the right supports such as speech therapy and others as needed.
5. Therapy begins — your child starts goal-based sessions with their dedicated therapist, with you as an active partner.
6. Review & measure — progress is tracked at regular intervals, and the plan is adjusted as your child grows.
7. Celebrate & generalise — gains are carried into home, school and everyday life, with goals updated as new milestones come into view.
The purpose is simple: to replace worry and guesswork with a clear, supportive structure, so you always know where your child is and what comes next.
How it helps your child
Because each step builds on the last, your child receives the right support at the right moment — not too early, not too late. The journey keeps care consistent across therapists and centres, keeps you informed and involved at every stage, and ties every therapy goal to something meaningful for your child's daily life. Progress is measured, not guessed, so small wins are noticed and built upon. The Pinnacle way

What to watch
Notice whether your child's care feels clear and structured — do you understand the assessment, the plan, the goals and how progress is being measured? If care ever feels piecemeal or unclear, that is the moment to ask for a review and re-map the journey.
Try this at home
Keep a simple home note of small wins between sessions — a new word, a new turn-taken game, a button done alone. Bringing these to each review helps your child's therapist measure real, everyday progress.

Frequently asked

How long does the journey take?
There is no fixed timeline — the journey moves at your child's pace. The early steps (welcome and assessment) happen quickly, while therapy, review and growth continue for as long as they help your child, with regular measured check-ins.
Am I involved at every step?
Yes. You are an active partner throughout — from sharing your concerns at the welcome step, to understanding the findings, to carrying goals into home and school life. Care is built around your family, not just your child's appointments.
