YOUR QUESTION. A CLEARER NEXT STEP.
What is AbilityScore® and how does it help my child?
AbilityScore® is Pinnacle Blooms Network's clinician-administered structured assessment that maps a child's strengths and support needs across communication, play, movement, learning and daily life, turning worry into a clear, personalised and measurable therapy plan. AbilityScore® is part of Pinnacle’s developmental assessment. Diagnosis, where needed, requires an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

When you want to truly understand your child's strengths and needs, the right map makes every next step clearer and kinder.
In short
AbilityScore® is Pinnacle Blooms Network's clinician-administered structured assessment that builds a clear, whole-child picture of how your child communicates, plays, moves, learns, relates and manages daily life. Rather than a single label or number, it maps your child's strengths and the areas where they need support — so therapy is shaped precisely around your child, not a generic template. It is the foundation on which a personalised, measurable plan is built and progress is tracked over time.
What AbilityScore® actually does for your child
- Sees the whole child — it looks across communication, social connection, play, motor skills, attention, learning and everyday independence, so nothing important is missed.
- Turns worry into a plan — instead of a vague sense that "something feels different", you receive a clear profile that shows exactly where to begin and which goals matter most right now.
- Personalises therapy — your child's specific strengths become the bridge to the areas needing support, so sessions feel purposeful and child-led.
- Tracks real progress — because it is structured and repeatable, it lets your clinical team measure how your child is growing over time and adjust the plan as they bloom.
- Speaks one shared language — therapists, parents and the wider team can all see the same picture, so everyone works together towards the same goals.
AbilityScore® is administered and interpreted only by qualified Pinnacle clinicians — it is never a self-scored app or online quiz. Backed by 2.5 billion+ data points and 25 million+ therapy sessions across our network, it is designed to make your child's care precise, transparent and deeply personal.
When it helps most
An AbilityScore® assessment is valuable whenever you have questions about your child's development — whether you've noticed a delay in speech, play or movement, received a query from a teacher or paediatrician, or simply want a clear baseline before starting any support. It is equally useful for planning therapy, reviewing progress, and making confident decisions about what your child needs next.

Something to notice. Something to discuss.
What to notice
Consider an assessment if you've noticed delays in speech, play, movement or attention, received a query from a teacher or paediatrician, or want a clear baseline before starting any therapy or reviewing progress.
In everyday life
Before your assessment, jot down small everyday observations — words your child uses, how they play, what calms or frustrates them — these real-life notes help your clinician build a richer, more accurate picture.
Bring your observations and questions to your child’s professional. Choose activities that suit your child’s comfort, abilities and agreed plan.
