A band is read alongside your child's age and their other domains, never in isolation. Importantly, the AbilityScore® describes how vision is being used for development; it does not replace an eye-health check by an ophthalmologist or optometrist, which looks at the eye itself.

When to look more closely

If your child rarely makes eye contact, doesn't follow moving objects, holds things very close, seems to miss things on one side, or you simply have a quiet worry — it is always worth a gentle professional look.
