This is a reassuring, strength-indicating result; interpret it as a relative position against the child's own baseline and stage, not as a diagnostic clearance or a static IQ-style figure. Always read it alongside the other domains and your direct observation.

How to read this band clinically

The Emotional domain maps to ICF emotional functions (b152) — the appropriateness, range and regulation of affect. A 900–1000 result suggests:

• Robust self-regulation — the child modulates arousal, settles after distress, and recovers within developmentally typical timeframes.
• Appropriate affect range and congruence — emotional expression matches context and is neither blunted nor markedly labile.
• Effective comfort-seeking and co-regulation — the child uses caregivers as a secure base and responds to soothing.

A few interpretive cautions for the band:

• Strength in one domain does not offset risk in another. A high emotional score can co-exist with, and sometimes mask, communication, motor or social-cognition needs — review the full profile.
• Watch for ceiling and context effects. A single high score in an unfamiliar setting warrants corroboration with caregiver-reported function across home and other environments.
• Read it longitudinally. The band is most useful as a trajectory marker over repeat measures, not a one-off label.
