At what age should my child be talking?

Children develop at different paces, but most babble by around 9–12 months, use first words near 12 months, and combine two words by about 24 months. If your child is noticeably behind, a developmental check helps — earlier support tends to unfold communication more naturally.

Will using picture cards or a device stop my child from talking?

No. Research and clinical experience show that augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) gives a child a way to connect now and often encourages, rather than delays, spoken language.
