How to Support Your Child's Early Words
Grow early words through warm, everyday back-and-forth talk: narrate routines, follow your child's lead, pause to invite a turn, expand their attempts, and favour real faces over screens. Little and often, through play, is exactly right.
Those first wobbly words — "mama", "more", "go" — are tiny milestones with enormous meaning, and you have more power to nurture them than anyone.

- Sing and repeat. Rhymes, action songs and favourite books said the same way each time give words a predictable, joyful home.
- Reduce screens, increase faces. Real conversation, eye contact and gesture do the heavy lifting at this age.
