YOUR QUESTION. A CLEARER NEXT STEP.
How your child's therapy plan is decided
A therapy plan is built from a clinician-led structured assessment that maps where your child stands today, then turns that into a small set of meaningful goals agreed with you, the right mix and intensity of therapies, and a plan you can use at home. It is reviewed and adjusted as your child grows. Developmental measurement supports care planning; diagnosis requires an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

Behind every therapy plan is one simple promise: it is built for your child, not for a category.
In short
Your child's therapy plan starts with a careful, clinician-led assessment that produces a clear picture of where your child stands today across communication, thinking, movement, social connection, emotions, sensory needs and daily living. From that picture, your Pinnacle clinical team sets practical goals with you, chooses the right therapies and intensity, and writes a plan you can actually follow at home and at the centre. It is reviewed and adjusted as your child grows — never fixed, always responsive.
How the plan is built, step by step
- We listen first. You share your concerns, your child's history, and what daily life looks like. Your observations are part of the evidence.
- A structured assessment. A qualified clinician administers a structured developmental assessment — this gives a baseline AbilityScore® and shows where support will help most.
- Goals set together. We turn that profile into a small number of meaningful, age-appropriate goals — for example, first words, sitting independently, or coping with transitions — agreed with you.
- The right therapies, the right dose. Based on the goals, the team decides which therapies (such as speech, occupational or behaviour support), how often, and in what blend.
- A plan you can use. You leave with clear goals, simple home strategies, and a way to see progress.
- Regular review. As your child changes, the plan changes. We re-measure and adjust so the plan always fits the child in front of us.

CONNECT THE ANSWER TO YOUR CHILD’S DAY
Something to notice. Something to discuss.
What to notice
Watch how your child responds to the home strategies between sessions — small wins, frustrations, or things that suddenly become easier are all useful for your clinician to fine-tune the plan.
In everyday life
Keep a simple note on your phone of moments that surprise you — a new sound, a longer focus, a calmer transition. These everyday observations help your clinician adjust the plan to the real child at home.
Bring your observations and questions to your child’s professional. Choose activities that suit your child’s comfort, abilities and agreed plan.
Bring your questions to a first visitQuestions families ask
Who decides my child's therapy plan?
A qualified Pinnacle clinical team decides the plan together with you. They use a structured assessment to understand your child, then agree goals and the right therapies with you as an active partner.
Can the plan change later?
Yes. The plan is reviewed regularly and adjusted as your child grows and progresses. It is designed to be responsive, never fixed.
Do I need to prepare my child for the assessment?
No. Bring your child exactly as they are on the day. The assessment is designed to meet your child where they are, with no rehearsal needed.
Is the AbilityScore a diagnosis?
No. The AbilityScore is a measure of where your child's development stands today. Developmental measurement supports care planning; diagnosis requires an appropriately qualified healthcare professional., under qualified clinician care.
