# What information do you need before the first session?

Canonical: https://pinnacleblooms.org/ask/what-information-do-you-need-before-the-first-session
Publisher: Pinnacle Blooms Network / Bharath Healthcare Laboratories Private Limited

Before the first session, share your child's basic details, your main concerns, any earlier reports or referral, relevant birth and medical history, and a picture of their daily routine. Nothing needs to be complete — even a few notes help. If you have no records, come anyway; we'll begin with your observations.

*Walking into the first session prepared turns a worried first visit into a warm, focused start for your child — and most of what we need, you already have at home.*

## In short
Before your child's first session at Pinnacle, we simply need a clear picture of who they are: basic details, any earlier reports or referrals, your top concerns, and a sense of their daily routine. Nothing needs to be perfect or complete — even a few notes help us make the very first session count. You bring your child and your observations; we bring the structured assessment.

## What to bring or share before the first session
**About your child**
- Full name, date of birth and a contact number
- A short note on your main concerns — what you've noticed, and when it began
- Languages spoken at home

**Any earlier records (only if you have them)**
- Previous developmental, speech, hearing or vision reports
- A paediatrician or doctor's referral letter, if one was given
- Birth and early-childhood history — pregnancy, delivery, early milestones, any hospital stays
- A current list of medicines, allergies or ongoing medical conditions

**Everyday picture**
- A typical day: sleep, meals, play, screen time and how your child communicates
- What your child enjoys, and what tends to upset them
- What you most hope to see change

If you don't have reports or a referral, that's completely fine — please come anyway. We can begin with your observations and build the rest together.

## What happens with this information
These details help our clinician shape the first session around your child rather than a generic checklist — choosing the right activities, pacing and communication style. It also forms the starting point for a clinician-administered structured assessment, so we measure progress from a true baseline. The more we understand your child's everyday world, the more useful that very first hour becomes.
