- **Singing and vocal play** — songs with pauses, gaps and simple words encourage eye contact, anticipation, sounds, words and turn-taking — wonderful groundwork for speech and language.

- **A calming goodbye song** — a clear, soothing close that signals the session has ended.

Throughout, the therapist watches closely — adjusting tempo, volume and activity to keep your child regulated, engaged and succeeding. Parents are often invited to join in so the songs and strategies can continue at home.
