# My child's Self-Awareness AbilityScore — next steps

Publisher: Pinnacle Blooms Network / Bharath Healthcare Laboratories Private Limited

A Self-Awareness AbilityScore® is one clinician-read snapshot of emotional development, not a label or diagnosis. The best next step is a clinician review that places the number in the context of your child's age and whole developmental picture, with gentle play-based support where helpful. AbilityScore® is part of Pinnacle’s developmental assessment. Diagnosis, where needed, requires an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

*A number is a starting point, not a verdict — what matters now is the next gentle step you take together.*

## In short
A Self-Awareness AbilityScore® is one snapshot of how your child is beginning to notice their own feelings, body, preferences and place among others — it is **not a label or a diagnosis**, and a single number across a 0–100 range cannot tell the whole story of a growing child. The most useful next step is a clinician-led conversation that puts the score in context: your child's age, their other strengths, and your everyday observations at home. From there, if support is helpful, a warm, individualised plan can begin.

## Making sense of the score
Self-awareness is an **emotional-development skill** — it grows gradually as children learn to recognise their own emotions ("I feel cross"), notice their bodies and needs, understand they are separate from others, and reflect on what they like and can do. It develops at different paces in different children, and it is closely woven together with language, play, and relationships.

Because of this, the score is best read *with a clinician*, not alone:
- A **lower band** is an invitation to look closer and offer early, playful support — never a cause for alarm.
- A **mid band** often means skills are emerging and benefit from encouragement and observation.
- A **higher band** still deserves a check that the profile is balanced across other areas.

What matters most is the *pattern* across your child's whole developmental picture — which only a qualified clinician can interpret.

## Your next steps
- **Book a clinician review** so the score can be explained in the context of your child's age and overall development.
- **Bring your everyday observations** — when your child shows feelings, names them, seeks comfort, or shows likes and dislikes. These real-life moments are gold.
- **Keep nurturing self-awareness at home** through simple naming of emotions, mirror and body play, and reflecting your child's feelings back to them warmly.
- **Follow up** — development is a moving picture, and re-checking over time tells you far more than any single number.
