- **Work as one team** — counselling aligns with speech, occupational and behaviour therapy so emotional and developmental goals reinforce each other.

## When to loop in the wider team
If emotional distress is intense, persistent or includes sleep disturbance, regression, self-injury, or marked withdrawal, coordinate promptly with the child's paediatrician and developmental team — some presentations need medical or multidisciplinary review, not counselling alone.
