Clinicians do not evaluate for ADHD until at least age 4, when behaviour can be compared meaningfully to peers across home and other settings. What you *can* do now is track general development — and if anything feels off, have it checked.\n\n## What is actually age-appropriate at 6–9 months\nAt this stage, healthy babies are *meant* to be highly active and unable to sustain attention — that is normal neurological development, not a warning sign. Instead of watching for \"ADHD\", watch the broad milestones:\n\n1. **Social** — sharing smiles, seeking your face, beginning to respond to her name.\n2. **Communication** — babbling, taking turns with sounds, responding to your voice.\n3. **Motor** — sitting, reaching, transferring objects hand to hand.\n4. **Hearing and vision** — startling to sound, tracking objects and faces.\n\nA delay in *these* is far more meaningful at this age than any worry about attention.\n\n## The Pinnacle way\nWe don't put an infant through an attention \"test\".
